After two decennia and many culinary successes, chef Cees Helder sold Restaurant Parkheuvel on May 31 2006. In Erik van Loo, Helder is fully confident to have found the perfect candidate to follow in his footsteps and to continue the restaurant maintaining the same high quality standards.
The new chef-owner of Restaurant Parkheuvel as from June 2006 is Erik van Loo. During the past ten years, Van Loo served as chef at the restaurant De Zwethheul (2 Michelin stars, 15 points GaultMillau en several top 10 positions in Lekker) in Schipluiden/De Zweth. Before, Erik van Loo developed his talent and skills at several renowned restaurants: as chef tournant with top chef Toine Hermsen at the former culinary institute Prinses Juliana in Valkenburg (L), as kitchen chef at restaurant Vreugd & Rust in Voorburg owned by master-chef Henk Savelberg and as chef-owner of restaurant Duurstede in Wijk bij Duurstede.
In 1997 Erik van Loo was inaugurated by Robert Kranenborg (chef-owner restaurant Le Cirque) and Imko Binnerts as SVH Meesterkok (SVH Master Chef). Master Chef van Loo will continue Cees Helder’s strategy and aim at the highest possible quality and creativity.
In the upcoming year, interior decorator Thed Konings will be working on a completely new interior for restaurant Parkheuvel, to match international standards of excellence.
